At Advent Houston, our prayer is that the children in our midst would “grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man,” learning to love, follow, and imitate Jesus (Luke 2.52).

The Student Ministry of Advent Houston partners with families to nurture and support children as they transition from preschool to elementary school, middle school, and high school. 

Patterning our ministry after Jesus who demonstrates that the first step is to "show up" and be present with others, we want to meet our children where they are. To that end, you can expect our Student Ministry staff and volunteers to:

• Plan frequent one-on-one and small group get-togethers at places kids like to hang out
• Attend kids’ sporting events, recitals, performances, etc. 
• Lead before or after school Bible studies
  
  

Kids are curious and ask great questions, and we want to cultivate that curiosity about God and his world. Kids are also relational, playful, and joyful–beautiful qualities we want to nurture. Our desire is to see each child know and love Jesus and join Him in His work in the world.

Preparing the next generation of Christ-followers is a great privilege, and we couldn’t do it without the help of committed volunteers. Please consider serving with our students in one or more of the following ways:

• Teaching or assisting with the Adventurers during the sermon on Sundays. Adventurers volunteers will be asked to serve once every four to six weeks. 
• Leading or assisting with one of our weekly Bible studies.
• Offering your home/common space for special events.
• Leading service opportunities for middle and/or high schoolers with our mission partners or other organizations.
