Who We Are
Advent Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX is a church community planted near the Texas Medical Center, formed around the belief that God is the one who initiates—with mercy, grace, and presence.
That’s what our name points to: the advent, or “arrival,” of Jesus. We don’t come with all the answers, but with sincere hearts—grounded in God’s truth and humbled by mystery. You'll find real friendships here, honest questions and conversations, and a shared commitment to welcome others with the same grace we’ve received. Our mission is simple: to embrace the abundant grace of Jesus, embody it in deep and authentic relationships, and extend it outward to our neighbors. Following the pattern of Christ himself (John 20:21), we want to bring resurrection hope to the heart of Houston—living out the good news of his arrival in this incredible neighborhood and equipping our people to bring the good news where they end up.
