At Advent Houston, children of all ages are welcome to participate in the entirety of our worship service. Although babies and young children are always welcome in worship, families with younger kids (ages six months to kindergarten) may elect to send them to our nursery and preschool rooms for the entirety of the worship service, where the kids will enjoy their own age-appropriate lesson, music, and activities.

In our worship service, we frequently include songs or readings chosen especially with our younger worshippers in mind, and we invite our reading-age children to volunteer leading us in reading scripture during the service. Children’s bulletins and coloring pages are available for elementary age students, and during the approximately 30 minute sermon we offer these children the opportunity to leave the worship service for a lesson, craft, and activity designed for our ADVENTurers (1st-5th grade). A staff member or volunteer will meet the Adventurers in the back of the sanctuary just before the Prayers of the People; Adventurers will be returned to the sanctuary during the Passing of the Peace so that they can participate in the Lord’s Supper and the rest of the worship service.

Students in grades 6th-12th are encouraged to participate in the entirety of our worship service.
